A pair of late Victorian satinwood and marquetry inlaid display cabinets. Of bowed form the tops with fan inlay, above three frieze panels each inlaid with cavorting Putti, above a central glazed door, enclosing a relined interior with glass shelves, flanked by bowed glazed sides and supported by tapering square legs with spade feet.

A Napoleon III, French, purpleheart and stained lacewood side table with ormolu mounts. The lattice parquetry inlaid top and undertaker with pierced metal gallery, above a single frieze drawer, supported on turned legs with toupie feet and united by a platform stretcher. Mounts regilded.

George II Mahogany Card Table

 A George II mahogany card table. The well figured rectangular top with outset corners, opening to reveal a baize lined interior, supported by a hinged gate leg to the back, which conceals a single drawer, above a deep frieze supported by four cabriole legs with acanthus carved knees and claw and ball feet. The underside with unusual incised monogram.

Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux (1827-1875)

A late 19th century,French, bronze bust entitled ‘Le Rieur Napolitain’ (The Laughing Neapolitan), cast after the model by Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux. The well cast and chased bust supported on a moulded square socle, signed ‘J.B. Carpeaux‘, with Propriété Carpeaux cachet. Brown patination.

Antique French Kingwood Gilt Bronze Mounted Vitrine

An early 20th century, French, kingwood and gilt bronze mounted vitrine of small size. The original rouge marble top above a glazed door enclosing three adjustable glass shelves with glazed sides. The kingwood veneered oak carcass with finely cast and chased gilt bronze mounts. The rear of the mirror plate stamped and dated ‘DÉC 1905’. The lock stamped ‘PK Paris’. Reverse of corner mounts incised ‘HL’. The lower frieze mount is used extensively by Francois Linke on many of his small tables and Vitrines.

A True Pair of French Vitrines by GERVAIS-MAXIMILIEN-EUGENE DURAND

G. DURAND, PARIS

A fine true pair of French mahogany, goncalo alves and gilt bronze mounted Vitrines by G. Durand. The thick rectangular breche d’alep marble top with moulded edge, above a single glazed door enclosing adjustable glass shelves with glazed sides, standing on short cabriole legs ending in gilt metal sabots. Original mercury gilding to mounts.

Stamped variously G. Durand with the ‘Marqué au fer’, and numbered 1 & 2.

Specialising in the production of 18th century style furniture of the finest quality, Gervais-Maximillien-Eugène Durand (b.1839) exhibited at the Universelle Exposition of Paris in 1889, gaining a silver medal, and the praise of the judges, who compared their work with that of Beurdeley and Dasson With his son Frederic-Louis joining him around 1890, the firm changed its name to Durand et Fils.

The well cast and chased case with urn finial above a female mask, with an enamel dial with roman numerals and pierced hands below, flanked by scrolling ribbon, acanthus swags and pierced grilles. The eight day movement with Brocot escapement, rack striking the hour & half hour on a bell.

A pair of 19th century patinated bronze spill holders in the form of a beggar and his wife. He leaning forward resting on a tree stump with his cap in his hands, a wicker basket on his back. His wife walking aided with a stick leaning forward carrying a bag on her back. Both supported on square sienna marble plinths and with original dark patination.

A pair of early 19th century, French Empire, Carrera marble, gilt and patinated bronze candlesticks of large size. The bronze figure of a putti standing on a circular plinth holding a finely cast and chased stem with single candle sconce, with an ormolu mounted stepped marble base. The sconce drilled for electricity.

A late 19th century, french, oeil de vermeil and ormolu mounted guéridon. The oval top with radiating veneers and ormolu edge, above a shaped frieze mounted with floral swags, the front with pull out slide and oak lined drawer. Standing on four slender cabriole shaped legs ending in sabots. Original gilding to mounts. Knee mounts stamped ‘JH’ to the reverse.
