A late 19th century, French, mahogany & gilt bronze mounted vitrine on stand in the Louis XVI style, by Lampre. The carrera marble top with pierced gallery, above a glazed vitrine with central door, mirrored back and bowed sides, the open base with a frieze drawer, standing on short cabriole legs. Mounts regilded. Brand to back ‘Lampre Fg St Honore 72 Paris’

A. LAMPRE, cabinetmaker specializing in the manufacture of gaming tables of all styles for which he held a patent. He participated in the Universal Exhibitions of 1878 and 1889 where he won several bronze medals. He practiced at 72, Faubourg Saint-Honoré from 1876 and 40, rue Amelot from 1882 to the end of the century.
