A pair of late 19th century figures of ‘Hippomene ‘ & ‘Atalante’ cast by Barbedienne. Each figure in expressive pose, standing on a ring turned and octagonal Belgium marble base. Original dark brown patination, each signed to base. Some fritting to base of each marble.
Cast after the marbles situated in the ‘Jardin des Tuileries’, and shown in the Bardedienne catalogue of 1886. The size of each is ‘Petite No 4’.
