Antique Grand Tour Bronze Spinario Boy with Thorn

A late 19th century ‘Grand Tour’, Continental, bronze figure of the seated ‘Spinario’. The figure of a boy withdrawing a thorn from his foot, dark brown patination & standing on a turned ebonised plinth.
Also known as ‘Fedelino’ or ‘Boy with Thorn’, the original Greco-Roman Hellenistic bronze sculpture is in the Palazzo die Conservatori, Rome. There is also a Roman marble version in the Medici collection, Florence.
