Antique Rosewood Work Table Attributed to Vervelle

Attributed to Alexandre-Louis Vervelle (1800-1856)

A French, rosewood and tulipwood marquetry inlaid work/writing table. The serpentine shaped top sliding to reveal a fitted drawer enclosing writing surface, lifting to a fitted interior with mirror, the shaped sides above a sliding wool basket, supported by four scrolling legs united by a platform stretcher. The whole dressed in ormolu. Mounts regilded.
